Collection: Kurinuki Chawan Workshop Led by Kevin Watson Sunday 2/15/26 3pm-5pm

🄣 Kurinuki Chawan Workshop

Led by Kevin Watson

Discover the ancient Japanese technique of Kurinuki—a meditative process of carving vessels from solid clay. In this two-hour workshop, you’ll create your own Chawan, the traditional tea bowl used in Japanese tea ceremony.

No wheel required. No two pieces alike.

Guided by the philosophy of Wabi Sabi, we’ll embrace asymmetry, texture, and the beauty of imperfection. Each participant will carve a one-of-a-kind bowl, revealing the form hidden within the clay.

✨ What’s Included:

• All materials and tools provided
• Instruction in Kurinuki technique and Wabi Sabi aesthetics
• Option to glaze and fire your piece for an additional fee

šŸ§˜ā™‚ļø Who It’s For:

• Beginners and seasoned potters alike
• Artists, tea lovers, and seekers of quiet transformation
• Anyone drawn to the soulful rhythm of hand-building

Come carve, reflect, and reveal.
Your artwork is waiting inside the block.
